You may be exhausted, disconnected, or feeling empty and looking for some hope. You may feel alone on this journey and believe something needs to change. Seeking therapy takes bravery, and I’m glad you’re here.

Perhaps you are in a relationship that just doesn’t feel right or you have experienced something that has left you feeling afraid, out of control, or numb. Maybe you are navigating a difficult journey toward motherhood, grieving the loss of one or more pregnancies, or have arrived at motherhood to realize that this is not what you had expected. I am here to offer compassionate care. You are not alone, and with help, you will be well.

My respectful, empathetic, and empowering approach will help you in discovering strategies to increase your self-care, find balance, establish healthy boundaries to help you feel more connected to others, and understand and manage your symptoms. Using strength-based, trauma-informed care, I will work collaboratively with you to create a treatment plan that is individualized to meet your needs in the most helpful way. With a passion for feminist social work, my technique explores how gender roles, expectations, biases, oppression, discrimination, and power dynamics greatly impact client’s daily lives.

Taking the first step toward getting help can feel intimidating. I strongly believe that a connection between the clinician and the client is essential for effective treatment, which is why I offer a free phone consultation to see if we could work well together. Change is possible. Let me help.

For as long as I can remember, I have found human behavior fascinating. My interest in the way human experience influences actions and its effect on internal dialogue has helped me to shape my practice into what it is today. I honestly believe that at any given point people act in the best way possible with the skills they have at the time. I also believe that it is possible for people to gain a deeper understanding of self as a way of shaping future behavior and to recognize strengths that can guide through difficult times. I am passionate about being a part of this journey with my clients and joining with them on the path to insightfulness.

I have worked with a wide range of populations and have found each one fulfilling for different reasons. My primary foci have been parent/child psychotherapy, parental substance use, attachment, and pre and postnatal therapy.

My clients have told me that they appreciate my ability to make quick movement toward short-term goals while maintaining a long-term relationship that works toward continued growth. By observing all layers of a client’s life he or she is able to begin to gain a more complete understanding of self and relationships. The therapeutic relationship is one of collaboration and my direct and open approach has helped clients to tap into the deeper feelings and issues that are present in their lives.

When I am not working I enjoy spending my time hiking with my dogs, which I find to be a grounding experience that renews my connection with nature and brings me an instant sense of peace. I also enjoy going to the beach any time of year, the repetitiveness of the waves and the calming sounds are a lesson in consistency and mindfulness.

I received my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Southern California with my concentration being children and families. I am currently working toward my Doctorate in Social Work with a focus on prenatal attachment.

Starting the journey of self-exploration can be a difficult one but it can be made easier when accompanied by a person who is empathetic, direct, and open-minded. If you feel that a holistic understanding of your thoughts, feelings and actions is the next step in your voyage then please consider giving me a call.
